- 2 ripe bananas
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Mash the ripe bananas until smooth in a mixing bowl.
- Add rolled oats and cinnamon, and stir until combined.
- If desired, add honey or maple syrup and vanilla extract, then mix well.
- Fold in chopped nuts or chocolate chips if using.
- Spread the mixture evenly into the lined baking dish.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out and cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
Notes
Use overripe bananas for optimal sweetness; store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
