Ingredients

- 1 lb beef, sliced thinly
- 2 cups mixed vegetables (like bell peppers, broccoli, and snap peas)
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Rice or noodles for serving
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional for a glossy sauce)
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil (to finish)
- A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add the sliced beef in a single layer and let it sear for a few seconds before stirring. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until browned and just cooked through.
- Push the beef to the side, add the minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about a minute until fragrant.
- Add the mixed vegetables, stir-frying for 4 to 5 minutes until tender but still crisp.
- Return the beef to the pan, pour in the soy sauce, and stir to coat. Season with salt and pepper.
- If desired, mix cornstarch with water and add to thicken the sauce.
- Serve hot over rice or noodles, finishing with a drizzle of sesame oil.
Notes
Customize with different proteins or vegetables as per your preference. Leftovers reheat well in a skillet.
