Description

A cozy, delicious cranberry sauce with bright citrus flavor, perfect for holiday meals or weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 bag (12 oz) fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Rinse the cranberries and measure the orange juice, sugar, cinnamon, and water.
  2. Pour the orange juice into a medium saucepan and add the sugar and cinnamon. Stir gently until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the cranberries and water to the saucepan.
  4. Place the pan over medium heat, bring to a gentle boil, and stir occasionally.
  5. When the cranberries begin to pop, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes while stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove from heat and let the sauce cool slightly before serving or transfer to a container to chill.

Notes

This sauce can be made ahead of time and improves after a day in the fridge. It freezes well in small portions.
