Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, bourbon, and minced garlic. Whisk until smooth and glossy.
- Warm vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
- Add the chicken pieces, season with salt and pepper, and cook undisturbed for 5 to 7 minutes until golden brown.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken, scraping the skillet to lift any caramelized bits.
- Lower heat to simmer and stir occasionally until the sauce thickens, about 8 to 12 minutes.
- Adjust seasoning with salt or pepper, sprinkle with green onions, and serve hot over rice or quinoa.
Notes
Serve with rice, quinoa, or roasted vegetables. This dish can be made gluten-free by using tamari instead of soy sauce.
