Ingredients
Ingredients You’ll Need
- 12 oz rotini pasta
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 8 oz Velveeta cheese, cubed
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Optional: chopped parsley or basil for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rotini pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Step 2: While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks, and brown it fully. Drain any excess grease.
Step 3: Season the beef with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, crushed red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Stir to combine well.
Step 4: Pour the marinara sauce into the skillet with the beef. Stir everything together and let it simmer on low heat for 5–7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully.
Step 5: Add the cubed Velveeta cheese and stir until it’s completely melted and the sauce is thick, creamy, and cheesy.
Step 6: Add the cooked rotini pasta to the skillet and toss gently to coat every piece in that delicious cheesy beef marinara sauce.
Step 7: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella evenly over the top. Cover and let sit for 2–3 minutes until the cheese melts. For a bubbly golden crust, pop the skillet under the broiler for 2–3 minutes (watch closely!).
Step 8: Garnish with chopped parsley or basil, serve warm, and enjoy that rich, comforting pasta goodness.
