Description

A comforting and savory dish featuring tender beef and fresh broccoli cooked to perfection in a crockpot.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef (flank steak or sirloin), sliced thinly
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, minced garlic, and vegetable oil. Whisk these ingredients together to create a sauce.
  2. Place the sliced beef into the crockpot and pour the sauce mixture over it, ensuring every piece is coated.
  3. Set the crockpot to low and cook for 5 to 6 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
  4. About 30 minutes before serving, add the broccoli florets and stir gently.
  5. To thicken the sauce, mix the cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry and pour it into the crockpot, stirring until the sauce thickens.
  6. Serve the beef and broccoli over warm rice and enjoy.

Notes

Slice beef against the grain for tenderness. You can sauté broccoli separately if you prefer a firmer texture.
