- 1 pound beef (flank steak or sirloin), sliced thinly
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Cooked rice for serving
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, minced garlic, and vegetable oil. Whisk these ingredients together to create a sauce.
- Place the sliced beef into the crockpot and pour the sauce mixture over it, ensuring every piece is coated.
- Set the crockpot to low and cook for 5 to 6 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
- About 30 minutes before serving, add the broccoli florets and stir gently.
- To thicken the sauce, mix the cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry and pour it into the crockpot, stirring until the sauce thickens.
- Serve the beef and broccoli over warm rice and enjoy.
Notes
Slice beef against the grain for tenderness. You can sauté broccoli separately if you prefer a firmer texture.
