- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ cup milk
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Yellow buttercream frosting
- Orange candy for beaks
- Candy eyes
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with milk.
- Divide the batter among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, frost with yellow buttercream and decorate using orange candy for beaks and candy eyes.
Notes
Ensure butter and eggs are at room temperature for best results. Do not overmix to maintain a light texture.
