Ingredients

- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing the dish)
- Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Butter a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Arrange half of the sliced potatoes in an even layer in the dish.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle half of the shredded cheese on top.
- Repeat with the remaining potato slices, cream mixture, and cheese.
- Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
- Let rest for 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
