A quick and nutritious pasta dish featuring broccoli, garlic, and olive oil, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients

- 8 oz pasta (your choice)
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)
- A splash of broth or a pat of butter (optional)
- A lemon wedge for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
- With two minutes left of cooking, add the broccoli florets to the pot.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté minced garlic and red pepper flakes until fragrant.
- Drain the pasta and broccoli, reserving a half cup of pasta cooking water, then combine with the garlic oil in the skillet.
- Toss to coat and season with salt and pepper. If the pasta seems dry, add a splash of the reserved pasta water.
- Serve hot, optionally topping with Parmesan cheese and offering lemon on the side.
Notes
For added richness, stir in a pat of butter or a splash of cream. Feel free to adapt with additional vegetables or proteins.
