Easy Healthy Broccoli Pasta

Description

A quick and nutritious pasta dish featuring broccoli, garlic, and olive oil, perfect for weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (your choice)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)
  • A splash of broth or a pat of butter (optional)
  • A lemon wedge for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. With two minutes left of cooking, add the broccoli florets to the pot.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté minced garlic and red pepper flakes until fragrant.
  4. Drain the pasta and broccoli, reserving a half cup of pasta cooking water, then combine with the garlic oil in the skillet.
  5. Toss to coat and season with salt and pepper. If the pasta seems dry, add a splash of the reserved pasta water.
  6. Serve hot, optionally topping with Parmesan cheese and offering lemon on the side.

Notes

For added richness, stir in a pat of butter or a splash of cream. Feel free to adapt with additional vegetables or proteins.
