Garlic Butter Steak Bites with Creamy Parmesan Shells

  • Author: Emily Wilkinson
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 tbsp butter (for cooking the steak)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme (optional, but adds a nice touch)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 8 oz shell pasta
  • 1 tbsp butter (for the creamy pasta)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (because a little green makes everything better)

Instructions

Preparation

Step 1: Start by preparing the steak. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 3 tablespoons of butter. Once the butter is melted and sizzling, toss in the steak pieces. Season with salt, pepper, and thyme (if using). Cook the steak bites for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they’re golden brown and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.

Step 2: In the same skillet, toss in the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until it becomes fragrant. Be careful not to burn it! This step infuses the butter with the rich, savory flavors of garlic, making it the perfect base for the creamy pasta.

Step 3: Now, let’s cook the pasta! In a separate pot, cook the shell pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside, reserving a bit of the pasta water just in case you need it later.

Step 4: In a clean skillet, add 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Once melted, pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and garlic powder. Continue stirring until the cheese melts into a smooth, creamy sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 5: Add the cooked pasta to the creamy sauce, tossing to coat the shells in the rich Parmesan goodness. Add a bit of reserved pasta water if the sauce needs loosening up. Finally, fold the garlic butter steak bites back into the pasta, letting everything meld together for a minute or two. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot!
