Description

Delightful ham and cheese puff pastry Christmas trees that are easy to make and perfect for sharing during the holiday season.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sheets puff pastry (thawed)
  • 12 slices of deli ham (thinly sliced)
  • 12 slices of cheese (cheddar, gouda, Swiss, or mozzarella)
  • 24 wooden skewers
  • 4 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • Sprinkle of sesame or poppy seeds (optional)
  • Honey mustard or fig jam (for spreading)
  • Star-shaped cheese cutouts (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Assemble the layers by laying one puff pastry sheet on a clean surface. Top with six slices of cheese and six slices of ham. Lay the second sheet of pastry on top and press down gently.
  3. Cut the layered pastry into 1-inch wide strips.
  4. Fold each strip back and forth onto a skewer to create a tree shape.
  5. Brush the assembled trees with a glaze made of melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm but also delightful at room temperature.

Notes

These trees can be assembled ahead of time and stored in the fridge. They are best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated in the oven.
