Description

A comforting dish of tender chicken thighs glazed in a sweet-savory honey garlic sauce served over rice.

Ingredients

  • Boneless chicken thighs
  • Soy sauce
  • Honey
  • Garlic, minced
  • Rice (for serving)
  • Oil (for cooking)
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
  • Optional: a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat
  • Optional: a splash of chicken broth if you prefer a thinner sauce
  • Optional: chopped green onions or sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, and minced garlic until smooth and glossy.
  2. Heat oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Pat chicken thighs dry, season with salt and pepper, and place them in the skillet presentation-side down. Cook for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Flip the chicken, brown the other side for another 5 minutes until slightly crisp.
  5. Pour honey garlic sauce over the chicken, cover, and let simmer for about 10 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  6. Remove cover, spoon sauce over the chicken, and serve over warm rice, garnished with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

Consider adding spices or citrus for variations, and serve with pickled vegetables or a crisp salad for balance.
