- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4–5 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Pat the beef tenderloin dry and rub with olive oil, seasoning generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium-high heat and sear the beef for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Mix melted butter, minced garlic, rosemary, and thyme in a bowl.
- Brush Dijon mustard over the tenderloin and coat with the herb butter mixture.
- Roast in the oven for 20-25 minutes until internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
- Remove from the oven, cover loosely with foil, and let rest for 10-15 minutes.
- Slice into 1-inch thick slices and serve with pan juices.
Notes
For best flavor, use high-quality beef tenderloin and fresh herbs. Allow the beef to come to room temperature before cooking.
