- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs

- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 oz (1 package) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs, vanilla extract, red food coloring, and vinegar, and mix until combined.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt, and gently fold until just combined. Reserve 1/4 cup of this batter for later.
- In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese with the granulated sugar until creamy. Incorporate the egg and vanilla until fluffy.
- Pour the red velvet batter into the baking pan and spread evenly.
- Dollop the cheesecake mixture on top and swirl together using a knife.
- Add dollops of the reserved red velvet batter and incorporate into the swirl.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool before slicing into squares.
Notes
For a richer flavor, add chocolate chips or nuts to the brownie batter. Serve with vanilla ice cream for a delightful contrast.
