- 8 oz egg noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup frozen peas (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat, then drain any excess fat.
- Add cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, salt, and pepper to the skillet, stirring to combine.
- Fold in the cooked egg noodles and optional peas until well mixed.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden. Let cool before serving.
Notes
Don’t overcook the noodles; they will soften further in the casserole. You can assemble it ahead of time and refrigerate before baking.
