- Spaghetti
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add ground beef (or turkey) and brown until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for about 20 minutes.
- Serve sauce over spaghetti and top with parmesan cheese if desired.
