Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef (or turkey) and brown until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for about 20 minutes.
  5. Serve sauce over spaghetti and top with parmesan cheese if desired.
