This banana bread is ultra-moist and packed with melty chocolate chips, making it a comforting treat perfect for any time of day.

- 1 1/2 cups (180g) all-purpose flour, spoon and leveled
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick / 115g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
- 1/4 cup (60mL) vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups (360g) mashed ripe bananas (about 3–4 medium-sized bananas)
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, vegetable oil, and granulated sugar. Whisk until blended and frothy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, whisking until smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Fold in the mashed bananas with the wet ingredients.
- Pour the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and mix gently until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into a prepared 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a skewer inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a richer experience, serve with butter or cream cheese. Consider adding nuts or spices for variations.
