Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs if preferred)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper (more to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust for desired spice level)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat and add the chicken breasts.
- Cook the chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until cooked through and golden brown. Remove from the pan.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and combine honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir and let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Return chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over top and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- If desired, drizzle with lemon juice and garnish before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken in half of the sauce for 30 minutes before cooking.
