Description

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest (optional)
  • A splash of heavy cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) with the rack in the middle position.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes, brown sugar, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread evenly, creating a shallow well in the center.
  4. Sprinkle mini marshmallows generously over the top.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the marshmallows are golden brown.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra richness, dot the top with more butter before adding marshmallows. Consider adding a handful of chopped pecans for crunch.
