Description

A comforting and nostalgic tater tot casserole with a creamy beef filling and a crispy golden topping.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 bag of tater tots
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional: Splash of beef broth or Worcestershire sauce
  • Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned, then drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in cream of mushroom soup and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased baking dish.
  5. Top with a layer of tater tots, arranging them in a single layer.
  6. Sprinkle cheese on top of the tater tots.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Let the casserole rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving for cleaner slices.
