Description
A hearty and comforting Beef Bolognese served over creamy garlic butter fettuccine, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 12 oz fettuccine pasta
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it into crumbles as it browns. Cook for about 5 minutes until it’s no longer pink.
- Add the finely diced onion and cook until softened, roughly 3-4 minutes. Then incorporate minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, Italian seasoning, sugar, and season with salt and pepper. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- While the sauce simmers, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the fettuccine according to package directions until tender. Drain and set aside.
- In a separate saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and let it simmer gently. Add the softened cream cheese, stirring until it’s completely smooth and mixed in.
- Gradually add the grated Parmesan and shredded mozzarella cheeses, stirring until the sauce is thick, glossy, and creamy.
- Toss the cooked fettuccine in the creamy garlic butter sauce until every ribbon is coated in that delicious mixture.
- Serve the fettuccine on plates and spoon the rich Bolognese over the top. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and extra Parmesan if desired.
Notes
Store leftover Bolognese sauce in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for 2-3 months. Reheat gently to maintain creamy texture.
