Description

A rich and comforting creamy garlic butter beef and mushroom stroganoff served over egg noodles, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • 12 oz wide egg noodles
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Begin by cooking the egg noodles in salted water according to package instructions until tender. Drain and toss with 1 tablespoon of butter to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and allow it to brown deeply, achieving crispy edges.
  3. Season the beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Once browned, transfer the meat to a plate and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the diced onion and cook for about 3 minutes until softened.
  5. Then, add the sliced mushrooms, allowing them to brown undisturbed for 3 minutes. Stir and continue cooking until tender and caramelized.
  6. Finally, add minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  7. Sprinkle the flour over the mushroom mixture and stir for 1 minute to cook the raw flour.
  8. Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring to incorporate. Add Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard, then lower the heat and let simmer for about 3 to 4 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  9. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sour cream and heavy cream until smooth, being careful not to boil the mixture.
  10. Add the Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and combined.
  11. Return the browned beef to the skillet and gently stir to coat it in the sauce.
  12. Add the cooked egg noodles and toss everything together until the noodles are well coated in the creamy stroganoff sauce.
  13. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley for a touch of color and freshness.
