Description

A rich and creamy dish featuring Cajun seasoned steak paired with bowtie pasta in a luscious garlic Parmesan sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into thick strips
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1¼ cups grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¾ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • Fresh thyme sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta in salted water according to package instructions until tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. Meanwhile, season the steak strips with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper, ensuring they are coated evenly.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over high heat until smoking. Sear the steak strips for 2 minutes per side until they are deeply golden-brown with a caramelized Cajun crust. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add 2 tablespoons of butter along with the minced garlic. Baste the steak strips with the garlic butter before removing them from the skillet.
  5. Next, melt the remaining butter in the skillet. Pour in heavy cream and beef broth, allowing the mixture to simmer gently while scraping up any browned bits left in the pan.
  6. Add the softened cream cheese and stir until it combines smoothly. Gradually add in the Parmesan and mozzarella cheese, stirring until the sauce becomes thick, glossy, and stretchy.
  7. Toss the cooked bowtie pasta in the sauce until every fold is coated in the creamy goodness.
  8. Plate the bowties on one side and arrange the Cajun steak strips on the other.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and thyme before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding sautéed veggies or adjusting the spice level with more Cajun seasoning.
