Description
A rich and creamy dish featuring Cajun seasoned steak paired with bowtie pasta in a luscious garlic Parmesan sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
- 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into thick strips
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1½ cups heavy cream
- ½ cup beef broth
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1¼ cups grated Parmesan cheese
- ¾ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish
- Fresh thyme sprigs for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the bowtie pasta in salted water according to package instructions until tender. Drain and set aside.
- Meanwhile, season the steak strips with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper, ensuring they are coated evenly.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over high heat until smoking. Sear the steak strips for 2 minutes per side until they are deeply golden-brown with a caramelized Cajun crust. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add 2 tablespoons of butter along with the minced garlic. Baste the steak strips with the garlic butter before removing them from the skillet.
- Next, melt the remaining butter in the skillet. Pour in heavy cream and beef broth, allowing the mixture to simmer gently while scraping up any browned bits left in the pan.
- Add the softened cream cheese and stir until it combines smoothly. Gradually add in the Parmesan and mozzarella cheese, stirring until the sauce becomes thick, glossy, and stretchy.
- Toss the cooked bowtie pasta in the sauce until every fold is coated in the creamy goodness.
- Plate the bowties on one side and arrange the Cajun steak strips on the other.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and thyme before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding sautéed veggies or adjusting the spice level with more Cajun seasoning.
