Ingredients
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- For the Pasta:
- 12 oz bowtie pasta
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking the beef)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- For the Creamy Garlic Butter Sauce and Savory Beef:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Preparation:
Step 1: Cook the Bowtie Pasta
Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the bowtie pasta and cook according to the package instructions, usually about 10-12 minutes, until al dente. Once the pasta is done, drain it, reserving about 1 cup of the pasta water. Set the pasta aside.
Step 2: Cook the Savory Beef
While the pasta is cooking, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Season the beef with salt and pepper as it cooks. Stir occasionally to ensure it cooks evenly. When the beef is fully browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes, remove the skillet from the heat. Set the beef aside.
Step 3: Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
In the same skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until the garlic is fragrant but not browned. Be careful not to burn the garlic, as it can become bitter.
Step 4: Add the Heavy Cream and Cheese
Next, pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine with the garlic butter. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and allow it to thicken slightly. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese, letting them melt into the sauce, creating a rich and creamy texture. Add the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste. If the sauce becomes too thick, you can thin it with a bit of the reserved pasta water.
Step 5: Combine the Pasta, Beef, and Sauce
Add the cooked bowtie pasta and savory beef to the skillet with the creamy garlic butter sauce. Toss everything together until the pasta and beef are evenly coated in the creamy sauce. If needed, add a bit more reserved pasta water to reach your desired sauce consistency. Let the pasta simmer in the sauce for a couple of minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Step 6: Garnish and Serve
Once everything is well-combined and heated through, remove the skillet from the heat. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and freshness. Serve immediately and enjoy the creamy, cheesy goodness!
