Description
A comforting dish uniting rich garlic butter, beef, and two types of cheese enveloped in a creamy sauce over perfectly cooked spaghetti.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz spaghetti
- 1.5 lbs ground beef
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1.5 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp butter for finishing
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti until just tender. Drain and set aside while you prepare the sauce.
- Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once hot, add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until it browns thoroughly. Season with salt and pepper, then transfer the beef out of the pan.
- In the same skillet, add the butter and let it melt. Stir in the diced onion, cooking until soft and lightly golden, about 3 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic, oregano, and garlic powder into the skillet, stirring for another minute until fragrant.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and mix well to blend while cooking for about a minute.
- Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring to deglaze the pan and loosen any browned bits. Add the heavy cream and allow it to bubble gently until the sauce starts to thicken, roughly 3-4 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low and add the shredded cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese in small portions, stirring until each addition has melted.
- Return the cooked ground beef to the pan, stirring until completely coated in the cheese sauce.
- Add the drained spaghetti to the pan and gently toss to ensure every strand is enveloped in the rich, cheesy mixture.
- Finish with a small amount of butter for added richness and sprinkle fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Use high-quality ground beef for best flavor and allow the sauce to bubble for the right thickness.
