- 1.5 lbs ground beef
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1.5 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp butter for finishing
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water until tender, then drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, breaking it into crumbles, and cook until deeply browned. Season with salt and pepper, then transfer to a plate.
- Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in the same skillet. Add the diced onion and cook until soft and golden, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic, oregano, and garlic powder, cooking for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mixture, stirring for about 1 minute to make a roux.
- Pour in the beef broth gradually, stirring continuously, followed by heavy cream. Allow the mixture to simmer until thickened, approximately 5 minutes.
- Lower the heat and gradually add the cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheeses melt and the sauce is thick and glossy.
- Return the browned beef to the skillet and stir to coat in the sauce.
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing until every strand is covered in the creamy sauce.
- Finish with an extra tablespoon of butter and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately.
Notes
Ensure ground beef reaches an internal temperature of 160°F. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3–4 days.
