Description

A comforting, creamy pasta dish made with tender farfalle and savory ground beef, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil over high heat. Add the farfalle and cook according to the package directions until al dente, usually 10 to 12 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  2. Soften the aromatics. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, then cook for 3 to 4 minutes until the onion looks translucent and smells sweet.
  3. Brown the ground beef. Add the beef and break it into small crumbles with a spatula. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until no pink remains and the edges develop a deep brown color.
  4. Remove excess grease. Carefully drain the extra fat while keeping the browned meat and onions in the skillet. Leave a thin coating behind because it carries flavor.
  5. Build the tomato sauce. Stir in the diced tomatoes, beef broth, paprika, salt, and pepper. Raise the heat briefly until the mixture bubbles, then reduce it to medium-low and simmer uncovered for 5 to 10 minutes.
  6. Add the cream. Lower the heat before pouring in the heavy cream. Stir slowly until the sauce turns rosy and smooth.
  7. Melt the cheese. Add the shredded cheddar or Parmesan and stir until completely melted, keeping the skillet over low heat.
  8. Combine and finish. Add the drained pasta and toss until every bowtie is coated in the creamy beef sauce. Heat for 2 to 3 minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Consider adding vegetables like mushrooms or spinach for extra nutrition. Adjust the cheese type for different flavors.
