Description

A comforting dish featuring juicy steak bites and creamy Parmesan pasta that is quick to prepare and sure to please the whole family.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz fettuccine or your favorite pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pasta water. Bring a large pot of well-salted water to a rolling boil over high heat and add the fettuccine, cooking according to package instructions until al dente, usually 9 to 12 minutes.
  2. Drain the pasta, reserving 1/2 cup of the cloudy pasta water before draining and setting the fettuccine aside.
  3. Dry and season the steak. Pat the sirloin pieces thoroughly dry with paper towels, then season them with salt and pepper.
  4. Heat the skillet. Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Brown the steak bites. Arrange the beef in one uncrowded layer, cooking for 2 to 3 minutes per side until dark golden edges form.
  6. Rest the beef. Transfer the cooked steak bites to a clean plate and leave undisturbed.
  7. Sauté the garlic. Reduce heat to medium, add butter and minced garlic to the skillet, and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  8. Build the cream sauce by pouring in the heavy cream and bringing it to a gentle simmer.
  9. Add the Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes, stirring until the sauce is smooth and lightly coats a spoon.
  10. Combine the drained pasta, tossing until every strand looks glossy, then return the steak, combining for 1 minute before garnishing with parsley and serving immediately.
