Description
A comforting Cajun garlic shrimp spaghetti in a creamy Parmesan sauce, perfect for a quick weeknight meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 tbsp butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb spaghetti
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1.5 cups grated Parmesan
- 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- Fresh parsley for garnish
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti until tender, then drain and set aside, keeping it warm.
- Place the shrimp in a bowl and coat them with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook until they turn pink, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Transfer the shrimp to a plate and lower the skillet heat.
- Add the remaining butter and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream, then add the cream cheese and stir until melted.
- Gradually mix in the Parmesan and mozzarella until the sauce is thick and glossy.
- Add the spaghetti and toss to coat every strand of pasta.
- Plate the spaghetti, place the shrimp alongside, garnish with parsley, and serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
For added spice, increase the cayenne pepper or include more red pepper flakes. This dish can also be made with chicken or scallops.
