Description

Indulge in a creamy, savory delight with this creamy garlic shrimp spaghetti that transforms any weeknight into a special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
  • Chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook your spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water for later use.
  2. Heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat until melted.
  3. Add in the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, taking care not to burn it.
  4. Stir in the shrimp, followed by paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and chili flakes if you’re using them. Cook until the shrimp turns pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and whole milk, stirring well to combine. Add the mozzarella, Parmesan, and cream cheese, mixing until smooth and creamy.
  6. Toss in the cooked spaghetti, using tongs or a fork to coat every strand in the delicious sauce.
  7. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

For a different flavor, you can substitute shrimp with chicken or add vegetables like bell peppers and spinach.
