Description
A comforting dish featuring tender steak bites and creamy pasta coated in rich garlic butter, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh thyme (optional)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 8 oz shell pasta
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, add the shell pasta and cook until tender but still slightly firm. Drain and set aside.
- While the pasta cooks, season the bite-sized steak pieces with salt and black pepper, ensuring each piece is well coated.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Once it’s hot, add the steak in a single layer and let it sear undisturbed for about 3-4 minutes to develop a rich brown crust. Turn the pieces and cook until they reach your desired doneness, then transfer them to a plate.
- Add the remaining tablespoon of butter to the skillet. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic and thyme, letting them cook briefly until fragrant and lightly golden, about 1-2 minutes.
- Return the steak bites to the pan and gently toss them in the garlic butter so they soak up all that beautiful flavor. Remove from heat and keep warm.
- In a separate saucepan, melt the additional butter over medium heat. Pour in the heavy cream and allow it to warm through.
- Stir in the garlic powder, salt, and pepper before adding the grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until it melts into a smooth, creamy sauce.
- Add the cooked shell pasta to the sauce, stirring until each piece is fully coated.
- Serve the creamy shells topped with the steak bites, then finish with fresh parsley and a sprinkle of extra Parmesan if desired.
Notes
Consider swapping the steak for chicken for a lighter option. You can also incorporate vegetables or change the pasta shape to suit your preferences.
