A comforting dish that combines creamy pasta with perfectly cooked steak bites in a rich garlic butter sauce.

- 1 lb steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (for garnish)
- 12 oz medium pasta shells (or any short pasta)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta shells until al dente. Scoop out about half a cup of pasta water before draining.
- Add olive oil to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak pieces, season with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes, then set aside.
- Reduce the heat to medium and add 3 tablespoons of butter to the skillet. Stir in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
- Pour in the heavy cream, and allow it to warm. Then add 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, stirring until smooth and slightly thick.
- Add the cooked pasta shells to the skillet, mixing gently to coat. If it’s too thick, gradually mix in reserved pasta water.
- Return the steak to the skillet and toss gently to combine. Warm together for another couple of minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and an extra sprinkle of Parmesan before serving.
Notes
For a lighter version, swap steak for shrimp or chicken. Adding vegetables like spinach can enhance nutrition.
