Description

A comforting dish that combines creamy pasta with perfectly cooked steak bites in a rich garlic butter sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (for garnish)
  • 12 oz medium pasta shells (or any short pasta)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta shells until al dente. Scoop out about half a cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Add olive oil to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak pieces, season with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes, then set aside.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium and add 3 tablespoons of butter to the skillet. Stir in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream, and allow it to warm. Then add 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, stirring until smooth and slightly thick.
  5. Add the cooked pasta shells to the skillet, mixing gently to coat. If it’s too thick, gradually mix in reserved pasta water.
  6. Return the steak to the skillet and toss gently to combine. Warm together for another couple of minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and an extra sprinkle of Parmesan before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, swap steak for shrimp or chicken. Adding vegetables like spinach can enhance nutrition.
