Description

A comforting dish featuring creamy ricotta and fresh spinach stuffed inside jumbo pasta shells and topped with marinara sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup spinach, cooked and chopped
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 jar (about 24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, chopped spinach, 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup of the Parmesan cheese, the egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish.
  5. Stuff each cooked shell generously with the ricotta-spinach mixture and place it in the baking dish.
  6. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells to ensure they’re well-coated.
  7. Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese for that cheesy crust.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve warm.

Notes

For more flavor, consider adding finely diced bell peppers or red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
