Description
A comforting dish featuring creamy ricotta and fresh spinach stuffed inside jumbo pasta shells and topped with marinara sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 jumbo pasta shells
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup spinach, cooked and chopped
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 jar (about 24 oz) marinara sauce
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, chopped spinach, 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup of the Parmesan cheese, the egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish.
- Stuff each cooked shell generously with the ricotta-spinach mixture and place it in the baking dish.
- Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells to ensure they’re well-coated.
- Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese for that cheesy crust.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve warm.
Notes
For more flavor, consider adding finely diced bell peppers or red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
