Description
Delicious and playful Spaghetti-Stuffed Garlic Bread Subs combine saucy pasta, crisp French bread, and melted cheese for an easy family dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 loaf French bread, about 16 oz, halved lengthwise
- 2 cups cooked spaghetti
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning, divided
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Hollow the bread by pulling out enough of the soft interior to form channels in each half.
- Mix the garlic butter by combining melted butter, minced garlic, olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
- Brush the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut surfaces and inside the channels of the bread.
- Prebake the bread for 5 minutes to create a barrier against the sauce.
- Season the spaghetti by tossing it with the marinara, Parmesan, remaining Italian seasoning, and chopped parsley in a medium bowl.
- Fill the hollowed bread with the spaghetti mixture, dividing it evenly.
- Top each filled half with 1 cup of shredded mozzarella, covering the spaghetti completely.
- Bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and edges are browned.
- Let the bread rest for 5 minutes, then slice into pieces to serve.
Notes
For a meat variation, add cooked sausage or meatballs to the spaghetti filling. Adjust cooking time for smaller sub rolls if used.
